Polliwog Park is a park located in Manhattan beach, California. About eighteen acres in size, this park is the largest and perhaps loveliest of the parks in the South Bay area. The area boasts a large pond bordered on one side by natural wildlife refuge and are home to migratory birds and the occasional raccoon and opossum.
Ducks and geese swim along in the pond while turtles freely roam about in the park along an idyllic and scenic backdrop. The park is a favourite spot for concerts, performances, weddings and special events while there are also gazebos for birthday parties and anniversaries.
There are playground areas that include lighthouse, spiral tube slide, sand area besides Premier Little League field and picnic area tables. Short distance from the park Rose Garden is an ancient beach cottage and Historical Museum while in the south west corner of the park is the Manhattan Beach Botanical Garden.
There is a recreational swimming pool area besides drinking fountains, exercise courses and benches, grassy mounds and shady areas. There is also a nine hole disc golf course and amphitheatre for events and the park provides ideal recreation not just to children but also others amidst a unique natural setting.
