Point Mugu State Park Campground is a park located in the Santa Monica mountains in Malibu area of California. The area provides five miles of beautiful beaches, river canyons, bluffs and seventy miles of trails.
Popular activities in the area include biking, fishing, mountain hiking, horseback riding, surfing, swimming, wildlife watching and camping. The area has sandy beaches and sand dunes with rugged hills and uplands with river canyons and wide grassy valley where sycamores, oaks and native walnuts grow.
The fifteen thousand acre park is located near the jagged pinnacles of the Boney Mountains State Wilderness Area and the La Jolla Natural Preserve and the Sycamore cove. There is much swimming, body surfing and surf fishing in the ocean while there are also trails popular with bikers, cyclists and runners.
The campgrounds of the park include the Sycamore canyon campground and the Thornhill Broom campground. The beautiful beaches and rocky peaks provide the natural setting for a myriad of activities and some great nature watching.
The area is also rich in wildlife and plants that are native to the place and trails that cover these are also undertaken. The area is not just naturally beautiful, it is also the throbbing place for some action and activity.
